10 tough plants for early April joy
Second wave plants lift our plant community into spring with an excitement of colour and texture
It’s a gloriously sunny start to April and there is a lot going on in our garden, demonstrated by the above area. I am insanely excited about it all - nothing’s perfect but there is progress. I’ll try and explain.
Firstly, the single unknown pink Pulmonaria that I’ve been harping on about, I divided last year into about 20 plants, and you can start to see the effect they’re having as they grow larger. Their subtle pink is transforming the overall feel of the entire garden. Subtle is key because it doesn’t overwhelm, it feels right for the space. This is why I took out some Cyclamen I recently planted because their pink was not subtle, it was jarring.
