Sensible and down to earth advice, good to help people understand the natural world is circular and we need to be more hands off and let nature do it’s own thing. It worries me to see people clearing up and working against nature instead of embracing it.

Yes, luckily we all know so much more now than a decade ago and that knowledge has been interesting to a large number of people.

I wish everyone would adopt this advice, and I would happily fire every leaf blower in existence into the sun, they're one of mankind's worst inventions.

Haha perhaps by joining all the leaf blowers together they could form a giant rocket we can blast into space 🚀

Our leaves are just starting to fall now, in some ways it feels later than usual but who knows. I expected everything to be early after the spring and summer we had but it seems an early spring doesn’t mean an early autumn 😄

My husband will particularly love this article thank you! He was composting some surplus leaves from the grass yesterday. 🍂

I never quite know about pine needles on the grass as we have a very large pine. I think I read that they were acidic so I tend to rake them up but of course in days passed they would have sat… any thoughts welcome! 🙏

Thanks Cleo! :) Honestly, personally, I would just leave the pine needles. The amount they will make the soil acidic won't be enough to harm anything.

I love fallen leaves so much that I cruise around the area noting the trees I like and then driving around with a bag and broom and collect up leaves from the gutters. I also have neighbours who bring me their acer leaves. I throw them all on the borders a few inches thick and they are mostly gone by Spring. I inwardly weep when I hear my neighbours blowing every living thing to smithereens or worse employing young men waving leaf blowers around to no purpose whatsoever. GGrrrrrrr
