Indestructible yet always beautiful, Silene dioica, pink campion, is one of our star wildflowers.

Growing in various spots of our wilder garden below the polytunnel and a spot within the chicken area. These patches are all within competitive rough grass and nettles, and the majority grow in shade. Our wild roe deer family, who we share the farm with, munch on them regularly.

And yet, the red campion keep growing and keep flowering from spring right the way through to winter. Slowly spreading into low evergreen mats in cold months until flowers emerge again with warm weather in spring.
