Great table and benches Jack.

Over the years I have been using ' lifetime wood treatment' from ' thenaturalgardener' , it originates from Canada, has been used for years in their national parks , etc.

It does what it says on the packet, it's a powder.

I have used it in my business numerous times on benches, tables, decking, fences, etc.

Would recommend.

Well wear Jack, I hope you get many years of pleasure out of your new table. We're contemplating building some kind of simple summer house in our garden, as with our recent summers we're beginning to despair that it will ever be warm enough to sit outside here for more than five days each year.

That sounds like a good idea, it’s nice having somewhere outside to sit even if it’s raining, and we need it right now don’t we! Bring on the warm soon fingers crossed.

That table looks fabulous, I think a garden needs somewhere to sit at any time of the day or year so maybe you need some more benches! I had a white wisteria that suddenly died, but a shoot appeared from the bottom, at least I thought it was a shoot but when it flowered this year it was purple. So maybe it was a seed that has come from the nearby purple one ( although would it have flowered relatively quickly?) or could the white wisteria have had a root stock that was purple? I don't even know if they have root stock?

Thanks Sue, it would be great to have more benches around the place. Though for winter it might have to be one inside the polytunnel! But actually that’s not a bad place in the winter.

I’m not 100% sure but our white wisteria looks like it is on a rootstock. I was thinking of removing it as it had shoots coming from below ground but I removed these and thankfully one shoot above the join has regrown… will it be white though is the question! 😄 this is already my second one as the first did turn out to be purple!

Coming along very nicely!! And yes - bean and cucurbit seeds are so rewarding as they burst out and up! Enjoying seeing your vibrant garden and lovely new patio table.

Thanks Celia, I have the sense now that we’re now really entering the proper growing season and time to catch up on a bit of lost time in spring
