Some call them weeds but I love these three mini geraniums. They are ethereal and cheery, not to mention incredibly useful!

While the three species I’ve listed here look superficially similar - especially their flowers - each grow in different conditions and can be used in different ways. Though you will find them all congregating around or on walls.

I find these mini geraniums so useful because they look great for most of the year, finding gaps to fill with their shapely leaves and non-stop flowers. Although each only grow to about 40cm tall and wide, once grown they will suppress seedlings of other plants reducing effort for us. Yet they are small enough to not be a bother to most of our wanted perennials.

They do all of this with a solid amount of drought tolerance, they can look immaculate even during the driest spells or after a heavy rainfall. Better yet, they support a large and varied…
