Exploring the world of mini plants for pots

I’ve started my Wild Way Miniature collection with cuttings and divisions of my existing plants in the garden - these will grow to fill the pots

I’ve always loved miniature plants, they’re useful for all sorts of spots and recently I’ve been thinking about them a lot. I keep reflecting on snowdrop displays and auricula theatres, displaying those tiny flowers on shelves for people to see their details up close. These displays are fun but also a bit ‘done’ and Victorian era, they’re also restrictive - there’s a limit to snowdrop variations I need to see and many more plants to grow. So I’ve been considering what my personal Wild Way take on mini plants would be.

While I avoid growing ornamental plants in pots like the plague because of the unnecessary work pots create from watering and repotting - always better to plant in the ground if you can - pots can be beautiful and create habitats for plants that wouldn’t otherwise be able to compete in our main garden. I recently bought a handful of small terracotta pots for 79p each with a plan to explore wild way miniatures.

What is a Wild Way miniature?
