Having recently visited Morocco, which is in the grip of a severe drought and and seen the effects on the landscape and people, I feel so thankful for our green and pleasant land.
I know we complain about all the rain we've had this Winter and are still getting now, but our gardens and countryside look wonderful at the moment. I love all the different shades of green in Nature, especially in Spring when they're so fresh and vibrant. I feel energised when I'm surrounded by all the new growth.
I agree with you about Euphorbias. They are one of my favourite plants.
Isn’t it funny how just the sight of all the new growth in spring can make us feel energised. I feel the same. 🌱 and yes I agree, how lucky we are for the rain. Things may get squashed down by the rain or eaten by slugs and snails but the volume of growth is so big, it almost doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
I used to think green was boring, now I love seeing the different shades. Yesterday I was looking for green flowers as I've got a euphorbia which self seeds and is gorgeous, and I discovered green Dianthus. Seems to be hard or expensive to get seeds or plugs.
I love green flowers, I wrote a little blog about them a number of years ago https://www.jackwallington.com/lets-make-green-flowers-our-naughty-little-secret/ some of my favourite wild flowers are green, such as wild Daphne and Helleborus viridis. I also love euphorbia, green echnicea and the green hydrangeas! :D It is interesting to study the different shades of green in leaves too, as you say.
I love this!
It’s such a special time of year with lots of build up for what’s to come
beautiful and inspiring; thanks Jack!
Thank you Linda, while I was writing it I was hoping everyone would step outside and look at the green ☺️
