I planted blackberries last summer & I envision blackberry brambles one day for birds & insects!

Sounds fab! We have lots of blackberries scrambling though our hedges, they add lots of fruit for wildlife!

Thanks Jack. I love that idea. I am in the process of planting a new native hedge at the moment. I also don't like the straight lined look for my new meadow so have planted the shrubs along one boundary edge as if the birds have dropped or buried seeds, hoping it will produce something similar to your hedgerows.

I was very disappointed not to have been able to attend your Zoom talk this week. Unfortunately it was hubby's birthday so had already arranged something else. I look forward to the next one.
