Some years ago the BBC showed a documentary called 'Oak Tree: Natures Greatest Survivor'. It is a glorious programme to watch whenever it gets repeated (as it does from time to time on IPlayer). I was reminded of it when you mention the roots of trees, as a model of oak tree roots was made for the programme.
Thanks for the reminder Gill, I saw it when it was first shown but would like to watch it again - especially not you mention the roots as I don’t remember that much.
